Corporations

Sin Weaponry Plc

Primarily based on Earth, with their corporate head quarters in the European continent this Terran corporation specialises in defensive weapons for both space ships and hand held defence.

Started in 2199 this corporation has grown to a moderate level of success with there best weapon the HTK 2000 helping them become a popular name among law enforcement across the galaxy. The HTK 2000 is available in different forms, from the most powerful being installed into space ships to the least powerful easily fitting into your pocket.

During the Earth Corporate wars of 2239-44 most of the Mega-Corporations where hit badly and had lost many a stronghold in many markets. Since Sin weaponry was a small corporation concentrating on small hand defence weaponry they had the fortune to not be dragged into the war. This in effect allowed them to build up a small monopoly with hand held defensive weaponry and thus gave them the chance to expand into ship based defensive weaponry. Many Cargo fleets took up Sin Weaponry as they where more easy to purchase than many of the more powerful weaponry made by some of the Mega-Corporations involved in the war.

Sin weaponry has expanded into other worlds and has gained inroads to the Union of Independent Worlds members and have offices on some of the friendlier members home worlds.

Although the HTK 2000 is the most powerful hand-held weapon the transition of the core technology to heavy-duty ship based weaponry hasn't gone as well. This is due to the problems with not being able to make HTK 2000 powerful enough to by used in fighter class ships. Although under powered this has made this dual laser very popular in the Cargo fleet and in privately owned shuttles.

At this time Sin weaponry are working on HTK 4500 which should address all the problems in the 2000`s design for heavy duty ship usage as well as offering enough power to threaten some of the main stream corporations that manufacture pulse cannons and lasers for fighters.
